Alameda County Alameda Small Dog Park The Alameda Small Dog Park (designated for dogs 30 lbs. and under) is located in Lower Washington Park at Eighth Street & Portola Avenue, near where Eighth Street turns into Westline Drive, in Alameda, California. The parking lot entrance is off Eighth Street, adjacent to the tennis courts. Parking is free.  The Small Dog Park has running water, trees, grass...and chairs! The public restroom is located between the dog park and the tennis courts. There is a drinking fountain there too. If you and your small dog would like to take a stroll after excercising in the small dog park, there is a very nice walk path along the beach at Crown Memorial State Beach, a short walk from the Small Dog Park.
Alameda County Earl Warren Park Earl Warren Park located at 4660 Crow Canyon, Castro Valley provides a pleasant relief within ear shot of freeways and major thorough fares. It is used by several dog clubs for shows and meetings and is a favorite dog walking area for the locals. It has Picnic Tables, Barbecues, Play Area, Parking Lot, Rest Rooms, Open Lawn Area 
Alameda County Sunny's Dog Park Located at Crown Memorial Beach, Westline Drive and Otis Drive.  Open dawn to dusk.  Fenced, benches, tables, poopbags, trees, parking, water and trashcans.  Approximately 4 acres with double gated entry.  It is approximately half dirt and half grass. The nearest large intersection is 8th and Central. There is also a path that goes along the beach behind the dog park where you can walk your dog -NOTE - you cannot walk your dog on the beach itself.
Alameda County Tilden Regional Park Park is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some trails are multi-use, others are open to hikers and horses only, and the trails in the nature area are hiking only. Dogs are permitted in Tilden, but not in the nature area, which the hike described below passes through, so if you're bringing your dogs along, consult the park map and pick an alternate route.
Alameda County Washington Square Park Located on Eighth Street in Alameda.  5 Acres that are fenced.  
Anaheim Yorba Regional Park A linear day use park over one mile long situated in the mouth of Santa Ana Canyon in the city of Anaheim. The linear environment of the park site recaptures the river setting of the adjacent Santa Ana River. 
Belmont Belmont Dog Run If you feel adventurous and want to show your pooch the dog run in Belmont CA, take 101 to the Ralston west exit. Travel on Ralston going west and after crossing El Camino and the Alameda, turn right at Cipriani (traffic light near the fire station). Continue up Cipriani into the hills of Belmont. Turn left on Buena Vista to Monserat. Turn left on Monserat and after a very short distance turn into the entrance to the dog run parking lot. Be careful entering the parking lot driveway. Go very slow unless you want to lose your front end (especially when you leave the parking lot). The lot is behind the Cipriani School. Parking may be difficult because of school activities on a week day.
Benicia Phenix Dog Park Located in the NW corner of the Benicia Community Park.
Berkeley Cesar Chavez Park 11 Spinnaker Way, North of the west end of University Avenue.  Off-leash area in designated area only.
Berkeley Ohlone Dog Park The city of Berkeley established the Experimental Dog Park in Ohlone Park at Hearst/Grant Streets in 1979. Now named the Martha Scott Benedict Memorial Park, this unique municipal facility provides a place where dogs can exercise off-leash safely, right in the heart of the city. Because the area is a real park and not simply a dog run, there is plenty of room for owners to relax and socialize along with their pets.
Brentwood Barrington Park Located on Barrington Avenue south of Sunset Boulevard next to the Post office.  Park is fenced and has an area for small dogs as well.
Burlingame Bayside Park Bayside Park has been the site of considerable development. It provides the largest collection of formal athletic facilities in Burlingame. Lighted fields are available for soccer, youth baseball, and softball. Several miles of trails are available for walkers, runners, and cyclists. The trails connect with the expanding Bay Trail system. Finally a dog exercise park is part of the complex. The dog exercise area is over 570 feet in length, allowing even large dogs to run to their hearts’ content. 
Calabasas Calabasas Bark Park Located at 4232 Las Virgenes Road.  Open 5:00 AM until 9:00 PM.  Separate gated childern's play area, doggie drinking fountain, pooper scoopers, ample parking and bulletin board.
Chino Prado Regional Park Prado Regional Park offers a rural getaway on more than 2,000 acres in the Chino Valley Basin on the borders of Orange and Los Angeles counties. Here you can enjoy fishing, horseback riding, camping, picnics, golf, shooting -- there's even a dog training facility.
Citrus Heights POOCH off leash Dog Park This park is over two acres and offers lots of room for dogs to run.  Benches and chairs are available in the sun or in the shade.  Drinking water for pets and people is also available.  Small pools and hoses are provided for fun and  cleanliness. 
Claremont Claremont POOCH Park POOCH Park was established in 1994 in order to provide a safe environment for dogs to enjoy the freedom of running off-leash and for people to enjoy spending time with their dogs and with other dog lovers.
Clayton Clayton Dog Park The Dog Park is located adjacent to Marsh Creek Road, North of Regency Drive, across from the Community Park. 
Concord Newhall Park 126 acres along Galindo Creek east of Treat Boulevard. Access is via Newhall Parkway south of Clayton Road or from Turtle Creek Road. Galindo Creek meanders through the park. Approximately 30 acres of park is improved with ponds along the creek, picnic areas, bocce courts, and turfed athletic fields. The "Paw Patch" is a secure, fenced area where dogs can exercise off-leash.
Coronado Coronado Central Beach There is an off-leash area at the north end of the beach.
Costa Mesa Costa Mesa Bark Park CMBP is a two-acre fenced off-leash park in the City of Costa Mesa. The park is administered by the Costa Mesa Bark Park Foundation, a California incorporated public benefit non-profit, comprised entirely of volunteers and wholly dependent financially on donations. The park has a separate area for small, elderly and disabled dogs. Facilities include double-gated entrance, parking, trees, benches, water dispensers for the dogs, dog waste bags and restroom.
El Cajon Wells Park This 1.4 acre spread within El Cajon's Wells Park is the East County's second leashless dog park and is a grassy haven for pooches. And it's been getting rave reviews from East County residents who sometimes traveled far away just to let their dogs run wild. It has gravel and grassy sun areas and dual drinking fountains (for pets and their owners). Located in the southwest part of Wells Park at 1153 E. Madison Ave., the off-leash area is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is lighted for night use.
El Segundo El Segundo Dog Park Located at 600 East Imperial Avenue.  Overlooks LAX.  Fenced area with benches for humans, plenty of trees, poopy bags and trashcans.

Encino Sepulveda Basin Off-Leash Dog Park Located at 17550 Victory Boulevard.  5 acres off-leash and .5 acres for small dogs.  Parking for 100 cars!
Foster City Foster City Dog Park Adjacent to Boat Park and using the same parking lot is Dog Park.  Bring your canine friends and enjoy a wonderful day of games and fun!  The 20,000 sq. ft. area includes separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, synthetic turf and decomposed granite surfaces, as well as a watering station.  There are also tables and benches for human relaxation after a long day at play.
Fresno Basin AH1 Dog Park This Dog Park is located at 4257 W. Alamos at the El Capitan cross street. The park is open from May through November from 7am to 10pm daily. The park offers a dog wading pool for your pups to cool off in during the hot summer months.
Fresno Roeding Park Dog Park This new Dog Park is located inside Roeding Park and is one acre of dog heaven, featuring small/big dog areas. It’s open from 6am to 10pm daily. A park entrance fee of $3 per vehicle applies to anyone entering Roeding Park.
Fresno Woodward Park Dog Park This Dog Park is located inside Woodward Park and is one acre of dog heaven, featuring small/big dog areas. It’s located in the North East corner of Woodward Park and is open from 6am to 10pm daily. A park entrance fee of $3 per vehicle applies to anyone entering Woodward Park.
Fullerton Pooch Park The Fullerton Pooch Park is on Fullerton City property and provided to the community on a trial basis. The City will monitor the park for up to one year to determine its permanent use.
Huntington Beach Best Friend Dog Park The Best Friends Dog Park is located on Edwards St., it is funded and maintained solely by the efforts of volunteers and through donations. BFDP is currently in need of volunteers to help perform a variety of functions within the organization.
Huntington Beach Dog Beach Dog Beach is located (click for map) on Pacific Coast Highway between 21st St. and Seapoint St. in the beautiful city of Huntington Beach (about 10 miles from Disneyland in Anaheim). One mile of golden sands and the exciting Pacific Ocean have made Dog Beach a paradise for dogs where they can frolic in the water and taste a sense of freedom--rarely found elsewhere.
Irvine Central Bark Opened in 2000, the Central Bark dog park features almost three acres of open field for off-leash play.

Laguna Beach Laguna Beach Dog Park Located on Laguna Canyon Road (133) near El Toro Road
Laguna Niguel Laguna Niguel Regional Park Over one-third of Laguna Niguel is designated as open space. This significant amount of open space is one of the key features defining the character and urban form of the City. The City has 2 community parks, 23 neighborhood parks, 3 mini-parks, 1 dog park, 2 county regional parks, 2 small county parks and the new Laguna Niguel Skate & Soccer Park.
Laguna Woods Laguna Woods Dog Park The dog park is located on Ridge Route between Moulton and Avenida Carlota.
Larkspur Canine Commons Larkspur's Canine Commons, located in Piper Park, is the regular playground for hundreds of local dogs and their owners. This special area re-opened in January of 2006, and allows dog owners and pets an opportunity to enjoy one another in a safe enclosure. To utilize the Canine commons, dogs must display a current license, never be left unattended, and females must not be "in heat". It is also recommended that doges be spayed or neutered.
Livermore Max Baer Park Contains tot lot, barbecue pits, picnic tables, a preschool, softball areas and a dog park.
Long Beach The Dog Zone The Dog Zone is nearly three acres of shore available for off-leash exercise. The Dog Zone is not a dedicated “dog beach.” This recreational opportunity is overseen by the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, with the assistance of the Recreation Dog Park Association.
Los Angeles Griffith Dog Park There is a separate, fenced and gated area for small and timid dogs.
Los Angeles Runyon Canyon Park This park is unstaffed, unlocked and open from dawn to dusk.
Los Angeles Silverlake Dog Park A great place to come and run off that excess energy, chase balls, frisbees, rocks or other dogs. Have a poop, a few pees, a drink of water at the new fountain. Sniff a few butts, roll in the dirt, splash in the mud, or just lounge in the grass. It's just the right place for a dog. Just make sure to bring your Human with you to clean up after you!
Los Angeles County The Hermon Dog Park The Hermon Dog Park is located at 5568 Via Marisol, Los Angeles 90042 (between Monterey Road and the Arroyo Seco Parkway/110 Freeway).  From the 110 (Arroyo Seco Parkway) exit Via Marisol and turn right. Turn left into the Hermon Park driveway and go to the end of the parking lot. Walk under the overpass and you've arrived.
Mill Valley Bayfront Park The facility includes a dog run, softball and soccer fields, lawn area, children's play equipment, restrooms and a small boat ramp.
Milpitas Ed Levin Dog Park Owned and maintained by the County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department, this park may be reached via Calaveras Blvd.

Napa Alston Park Park is open from sunrise to sunset. There are no rules posted restricting trail usage; apparently the custom is multi-use. Dogs are permitted on-leash throughout the park, and off-leash in a large designated area.

Oakland Hardy Dog Park Hardy Dog Park is an enclosed, fenced, off-leash dog park that spans 2.16 acres along Hardy Street and Claremont Avenue in the Rockridge District. Slightly out of the way and directly underneath the freeway (Highway 24), it serves as an ideal location for dogs to play in a shaded area and to bark loudly without disturbing the peace. There is also green grass and open space outside of the enclosed dog park, but dogs are to remain on leash once outside of the fenced area of the park. There is off-site and street parking available.
Palm Desert Civic Center Park The Civic Center Dog Park is approximately 3/4 acre in size and has a separate area for small dogs. 
Palm Desert Joe Mann Dog Park The Joe Mann Dog Park is approximately 1/3 acre in size and has no separate area for small dogs.
Pasadena Brookside Park Brookside Park is located in the Central section of the Arroyo Seco and is approximately 62 acres in size.
Petaluma Rocky Memorial Dog Park 9 acres, fenced.  Licensed dogs can run free.  Great place located at the west end of Casa Grande Road.
Pleasant Hill Paso Nogal Park Spring and summer, dog owners chat after work while their canine buddies frolic on the wide grassy lawn below the trails. Park regulars have a support system going--owners often watch each other's dogs, and they've even been known to throw impromptu birthday parties, complete with doggie cheesecake. Recreation-district officers in this area are known to be extremely open-minded and dog-friendly, but they stress the importance of personal responsibility.
Poway Poway Dog Park Park visitors are responsible for one of the most important maintenance activities – cleaning up after their dogs.  Working together we can keep the park clean and healthy for pups and people alike.  Plastic bags are supplied by Park and Landscape Maintenance for the clean-up process.
Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda Creek Park Located at 5939 East Avenue.  Fenced in area for off-leash.

Redwood Shores Shore Dogs Park Shore Dogs is an unincorporated California association with a mission to promote responsible dog ownership within our community and to maintain the off-leash dog park in partnership with the city of Redwood City. Our hope is to go one step beyond just being dog club, by cultivating community spirit and involvement, providing information and education to dog owners who have questions or problems with their pets and to be a resource with respect to rescue issues.
Richmond Point Isabel Dog Park With beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, the Marin Headlands and Mount Tamalpais, this landscaped, 21-acre park is an off-leash heaven for dogs! Responsible owners may bring their dogs for an off-leash run, a game of fetch or a swim in the canal.
Riverside Riverside Dog Park Park is double-gated.  Plenty of Pooper Scoopers and Poop bags!
Roseville Bear Dog Park Bear Dog Park is located on 1575 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, within Mahany Park.  The dog park is on the north side of the park next to the base ball fields.  This new feature of Mahany Park includes two separate areas to exercise dogs off-leash, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. 
Roseville Marco Dog Park The fenced, three acre park has a large grassy area for dogs to run around freely off-leash.  The park has benches, shade trees, water fountain, and small wading pools for your pooch to stay cool.  The park is in a ravine, several feet lower than the street and surrounding properties, so it is possible you might miss it if you're not looking carefully. 
Roseville William Bill Hughes Park The special feature of this dog park is a training area, where you can spend time training off leash, away from the normal distractions in a dog park.
Sacremento Bannon Creek Park Park is .6 acres. Amenities include benches, dog drinking fountain/faucet and dog waste bag dispensers.
Sacremento Granite Park Park Hours: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Park is 2 acres. Amenities include a drinking fountain for dogs, turf, and dog waste bag dispensers. Lights are scheduled to be installed in December 2007.

Sacremento Tanzanite Community Park This 2-acre dog park includes a drinking fountain for dogs, turf and native grass areas, trees, dog waste bag dispensers and benches for dog owners. Note: this dog park was renovated in June, 2007.
San Clemente San Clemente Dog Park Dogs are allowed on leash at Verde Park, Mira Costa Park and Calafia Park and on all city hiking trails. Dogs are not allowed in any other parks. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs.
San Diego Fiesta Island Most of this large sandy island in Mission Bay is designated leash-free for dogs. Lots of sandy dunes to romp in, and the calm bay waters lets the more adventurous dogs take a quick dip. Open 24 hours.
San Diego Morley Field Morley Field was named after John Morley who served as a park superintendent in Balboa Park from 1911 to 1939.  His guidance and inspiration for the cultivation of the park made for many of the beautiful gardens that are in the park today.
San Diego Nates Point The Nate's Point Dog Off-Leash Area is located on the West Mesa of Balboa Park, immediately south of El Prado / Laurel Street and east of Balboa Drive [map]. The off-leash area is approximately 2.3 acres in size, and has been used as a dog park since 1996. This off-leash park is one of the most popular dog parks in the San Diego region, and is used every day of the year.
San Diego Rancho Bernardo Off Leash Dog Park The Rancho Bernardo Dog Park is part of the Rancho Bernardo Community Park, which is under the auspices of the City of San Diego's Park and Recreation Department. To minimize costly damage and longer closure, the pens and playing fields are periodically closed during the rainy season. We appreciate your patience and understanding when they are closed.
San Jose Butcher Dog Park Located on the Camden Street side in Butcher Park, which is located at Camden and Ross Streets.
San Jose Delmas Dog Park Delmas Dog Park is located on the corner of Park Avenue and Delmas Avenue, includes many dog-friendly amenities: a completely fenced and double-gated entrance, decomposed granite walking path with bark-mulch dog area, tables and benches, drinking fountains with dog bowls, plenty of security lighting, and mutt mitts. Just over 17,000 square feet, the dog park is the first joint venture between the City of San José and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority to create a useful area for nearby residents and their four-legged companions. 
San Jose Fontana Dog Park Fontana Dog Park is located at Golden Oak and Paseo Pueblo opened September 17, 2005.
San Jose Hellyer Dog Park Hellyer County Park is located in south San Jose, has set aside two acres inside the park as an off-leash area for dogs. This designated “dog park” can be found at the northeast end or Hellyer Park, near the Shadowbluff group area. This two-acre area is enclosed with a six-foot fence. Benches, shade trees, a lawn, and a drinking fountain are available. Use of the area is free, but a vehicle entrance fee is collected when you enter the park. The dog park is open every day but Wednesday.
San Jose Miyuki Dog Park t is located at the end of Miyuki Drive off Santa Theresa Boulevard. This small dirt area is fenced with a double-gated entry and includes a bench for owners to sit and enjoy their dogs at play. Miyuki also features a pooper-scooper dispenser for your convenience. Be sure to take water for your dog, as there are no fountains available.
San Jose Ryland Dog Park Ryland Dog Park located at San Pedro and First Street.
San Jose Watson Dog Park Watson Dog Park located within Watson Park at East Jackson and 22nd Street location is now open!
Santa Clara Reed Street Dog Park The Reed Street Dog Park is a 1.5 acre City park that is the only City park that allows dogs to run off-leash. All other City parks require owners to have their dogs on a six foot leash at all times.  Separate fenced areas are provided at the Reed Street Dog Park for large and small dogs (small dogs are a maximum of 18" in height at the shoulder) with each area providing grassy mounds, water, benches, trees, plastic bags, garbage cans and a shade structure. Parking areas and a portable restroom are included in the park amenities. Additional park rules and regulations are posted at the park.
Seal Beach Arbor Dog Park Arbor Dog Park is entirely fenced with concrete surfaces for the larger double-gated enclosure being used as an entry and a smaller double-gated enclosure being used as an exit. Parking is available outside the dog park enclosure. Park facilities include drinking fountains for both 2 and 4 legged animals, Coke and water machines outside of the fenced in area and covered trash cans inside the park.
Sonoma County Elizabeth Anne Perrone Dog Park Located at Sonoma Valley Regional Park, near Glen Ellen, California, this one-acre, fully fenced dog park was developed and built with donations and funds raised by the Foundation. The dog park is a popular place to exercise dogs off-leash in one of Sonoma County's largest dog parks.
Studio City Laurel Canyon Park This park is unstaffed, unlocked, and open 24 hours a day.
Sunnyvale Las Palmas Park This well-shaded 16.5 acre park is a beautiful spot for your party or reunion with lush palm trees surrounded by a picturesque pond.
Union City Drigon Dog Park Drigon Dog Park has a small dog area designed for dogs weighing 29 lbs or less and a large dog area designed for dogs weighing 30 lbs or more.  A small plaza area with benches is ideal for dog owners to sit and relax and enjoy watching their dog play off-leash. 
Upland Upland Dog Park Upland Dog Park/Baldy View Dog Park was established in April 1999. It’s a 5-acre fenced in park where people can bring their dogs and let them run around with other dogs. It’s extremely healthy & beneficial for the dogs, and also for the owners, as it is a most social activity since everyone who meets there has at least one thing in common; dogs. The dog park also has a smaller fenced in area to accommodate small or timid dogs.
Venice Westminster Dog Park Off-leash area is 0.8 acres and a small dog area that is 50' x 25'.
